BABY (ELTHAM) THE WINNER. The final games for the Taranaki “cliampion of ' champions” singles wore played on the Eltham green on Saturday, E. Bary, of the Eltham Club, winning from J. AlcDonald (Avon). At the beginning of play, Bary had one life and AlcDonald two; but the Eltham man had a fairly easy victory in the first game, leaving the contestants level for the final. This produced a great tussle, a twenty-second head having to be played to decide the issue., WAVERLEY V. HAWERA. On Saturday afternoon the Waver fey Bowling Club was visited by five rinks from the Hawera. Club. A cordial and, hearty welcome- was extended to them, and subsequently Air Foy returned thanks for the enjoyabfe afternoon spent on the green. The visitors were successful in winning by a. majority of 28 points. The results were as under, Waverley players -being mentioned first: —Aiorrison, Horton Home and Alathieson 19 v. WEST ESNiD v. MANAIA. (From. Our Manaia. Correspondent.) A series of matches between West End (New Plymouth) .and Manaia Clubs were played on the latter’s green during the week-end and resulted in a win for the visitors on both, morning and afternoon matches. \ Mr. J. Hickey, president of the local club welcomed the visitor® end Mr. Petty responded on their belialJf. Afternoon tea was dispensed, by the ladies and was much appreciated.
