WAR GRAVES

, CONTROL OF FUNDS. PROPOSED BY TREASURY. •CREATES OPPOSITION. by cable—press association— copyright. LONDON, March 25. Commenting on the Bill, recently read a second time, making the British contribution to the War Graves Commission a subject of Treasury control, the Morning Post says: “The result is likely to be that all the .Dominions will demand, similar powers, and the present practical commonsense arrangement wi'l become impossible. We do not believe there is any Treasury design to get control of the fund. It is merely an officious attempt to get everything, according to the cast iron rules of the Department, . but it will clearly alarm the Dominions, which may even begin to regret their cision to submit to a common .authority. It would be better if the matter were left entirely to the Imperial Conference.”
