SURGERY IN NEW ZEALAND. MINISTER SUGGESTS AN INQUIRY (Bt TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. 1 WELLINGTON, March 27. Speaking at Qtaki, the Minister of Health, the Hon. J. A. Young, said that there was an uneasiness in the minds of many medical men and representatives of the people oyer the large number of operations in New Zealand, It happens that there are too manv ope ratio ns and too much surgery in New Zealand hospitals. The whole question would have to be investigated. and he would have no hesitation in recommending the Government to set up a tribunal to investigate the whole matter.
