MY PLAYMATE.

My playmate's a “foxy” with a spot on hits back, f A dirty white 'shirt front, a tail he can’t* wag, Four mud-covered feet—Murnmie says they are black When lie .sleeps on the carpet instead of his bag. We romp all the day and the messages run, And sometimes, he bites me, though only in fun;* He harks at the postman, and teases the cat, But he is my playmate, even though lie does that.

My playmate's a “foxy”—*a. mongrel you’ll say, Just a* small ugly dog or a harking young pup, But he shakes hands with daddy and nods him good-day, And sits up at mealtimes and drinks from a cup. / I will never swop “foxy” for a bulldog or Pom., Ou a* tortoiseshell cat, be it Kitty or Tom, He digs up the garden, tears holes in the mat, But he’s my little playmate, even though lie does that.

My playmate’s a “foxy,” a fair terror no doubt, He wakes up the neighbours by barking at night*, , He fights with the dogs when their masters are out. And comes home to me whining—a horrible sight. He’s a* terrible doggie and the secret I’ll* tell, lie killed mummies chicken® and ate them as well; a He tore daddie’s he.si suit and chewed up his hat, But lie’s my little playmate cause he’s just done all that.
