“ TO A MOUSE.”

BECTTINGr COMPETITION. ENTRIES CLOSE MONDAY NEXT. Dear Smile Queen, —Would you kindiv remind the readers of your column in Saturday’s Star that I am hopeful of getting quite a number of entries for the recitation competition. The time for entering will close on Monday next. So far, I have only, a few entries, and, as the Hawera Scottish Society wants to give the medals to the winners of a full competition, I look forward to having my letter-box, No. 242, full of entries on Monday next. May I just thank you now' for making the competition known? I don’t know how better we could have got the news abroad. —Yours obediently, L. A. TAYLOR. Hawera, March 26.
