CROQUET.

KATONGA CLUB COMPETITION. Added interest to the Kaponga Croquet Club’s monthly gathering, which took place on the club grounds yesterday afternoon, was afforded by the initial competition for the Vincent button trophy, to be awarded monthly to the, most successful player in the progressive tourney. Mrs A. V. Tail ’s success yesterday secured her the distinction of being the first- ■winner. The second competition for the Tail: button, awarded for the best break of the day was also attended with much interest, the honour being annexed bv Mrs C. TL Brewer. In the previous competition the trophy was won bv ■Mrs .f. TViwson.
