Berlin ■will soon have a “Museum of Voices,” for which a special building is to be erected. This museum will contain gramophone records of the voices of important person®, ns well as selections in foreign languages. The so-called “voice f library”' of the State Library in Berlin ha® collected already 3000 records of this kind in the last ten years. Thus 200 different languages have been recorded, as well as the voices of almost all Indian tribes,- more than. 200 African songs and dialects, Asiatic fairy tales, Japanese songs, and other interesting subjects. . The voices of the ex-Emperor, Field-Marshal Paul von Hindenburg, von Bethmann-Hollweg, Germany’s first President Friederich Ebert, Schneidemann, Erzberger, and Rathenau are contained l in this “library.” The original records are said to last 10,000 years. The voice, is cut into them with a sapphire or ruby' and every person whose voice has been recorded engraves his or her name in the centre of the reoord. The words are written down in the original text and lettering, also in Latin letters, and then a translation into one of the modern languages is made. A special photograph or- film of the person whose voice is recorded is also made. The Melbourne Ltd. are again showing their two fine lines of men’s navy serge suits at 105 s ..and 150 s. These suits have been specially selected as the best value obtainable, both in regard to quality of cloth and fit and make. All figures can be fitted. Come and see them,—Advt.
