NORMANBY.
* (From Our Own Correspondent.) TOWN BOARD. At the -monthly meeting of the Normanbv Town Board there were present: Commissioners C. J. Preston (chairman), T. Lloyd, C. Coad, P. Leydon, and A. Hills. A letter was received from Mr. W. Tristram, secretary of Taranaki Local Bodies’ Association, asking if the board wou'td join the same. The clerk was instructed to reply that tb e board could not see its way clear to join the association. The Deputy Chief Inspector of Explosives wrote enclosing regulations in respect of the installation of petrol pumps on roadsides, and also enclosing an opinion from tbe Crown solicitor in connection with the erection of same. It wa-s resolved to order a further* ten ton of bitumen, this amount being considered necessary to complete, the Main and Ketemarae roads A resolution was carried that a 10 per cent, penalty be added to* all rates remaining unpaid after March 31, 1926. The' clerk wa„s instructed to order 1 gross of electric globes from the Hawera. Electric Light Company. CEMETERY BOARD. Al] the members were present at the monthly meeting of the Normanby Cemetery Board, Commissioner C. Preston in the chair. Four tenders were received for the lease of tbe Cemetery Reserve ; viz., H. Crocker £5, E. A. Linn £7, H. B. Taylor £9, and W. J. Rowe £lO ss. Mr. Rowe’s tender was accepted.
