NEW ZEALAND HOSPITALS.

VISIT OF DR. McEACHERN. HAWERA TO' BE INCLUDED. The Director-General of Health has advised the Hawera Hospital Board that Dr. McEachern, the American expert on, hospital matters, was to be given every facility to visit the Dominion hospitals. He hoped to accompany Dr. McEachern during part ot’ his tour. The expert from America will lie in Hawera in the early future. At to-day’s meeting of the board Mr. Gillanders said lie had seen Dr. McEachern at Dunedin and had asked him to come to Hawera and look over the ne\y hospital and meet the mem r hers of the' board. He said he f.elt sure members would approve the invitation. 'Dr. McEachern was a very fine mail and bad made a good impression on delegates at Dunedin. The chairman said be was convinced the doctor would be able to give information and make suggestions of value to the board. No date had yet been fixed, and it would depeijd on the itinerary arranged. Mr. Gillanders said that Dr. McEachern was a high authority and was much interested in the detailed scheme of work in the hospitals. He was one of the finest professional men and the most approachable he had ever met-. It was unanimously agreed to endorse the chairman’s action, and that every facilitv he given to Dr. McEachern to see all over the new institution.
