. FOR HAWERA HOSPITAL. The matron of the Public. Hospital gratefully acknowledges receipt of donations as follows: Magazines.—Mr Horsburgh, Mr W. Syme, Pictorial News Office (Auckland). Books.—Mr C. Reeves (Mangatoki), Mr Westwood, Mrs Turnbull. Vegetables.—Mrs Waller. Flowers. — Mr A. Lareom, Mrs Fryer, Mrs Sinclair (Inaha), Mr© Crighton. She also reports with cordial thanks that on Sunday afternoon the Salvation Army played at the hospital. Several of the members also sang duets, and gave the patients a very enjoyable afternoon. The matron also wishes to give public thanks to the Methodist Church choir, members of which come regular on Sunday evening to sing to the patients. Members of Stanley McKay’s Pantomime Co. recently gave a Sunday afternoon performance. Those who contributed were: Misses Rene Rich (violiniste). May Brooke (pianiste), Ruth Buc-knall (soprano). Laurie McLeod (soprano), Messrs Frank Perryn (comedian) and R. L. Hobbs (conjurer).
