A very enjoyable day was spent at the local tennis courts on Saturday last, when the Alton team paid a visit and played a most interesting and closely contested match. The local team won by 13 sets to 11, although in games they lost, 152 to 147. During the afternoon the visitors were entertained to afternoon tea, when all expressed themselves as very well pleased with s the day’s sport.
