FRENCH WAR DEBTS

DISCUSSIONS TO BE RESUMED. A BRITISH STATEMENT. BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT. Received 12.10 p.m. to-day. LONDON, March 11. In the House of Commons, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr Winston Churchill, informed Mr Snowden that he intended resuming, without delay, discussion on the French war debt settlement, whereon he regarded last year’s agreement with M. Caillaiix as binding. France was issuing treasury bonds valued at £30,000,000 annually to meet interest on the bill due to Britain. This was augmenting the total debit seriously, and increasing the difficulty of the situation, a settlement of which was indispensable.—A. and N.Z. Assn.
