LONDON WOOL SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., has received the following cablegram from its London house Under date 9th inst. : “There was a jgood attendance at the opening of the March wool sales to-day, competition by Home and French buyers being fairly active. Prices, as compared with the close of preceding series, ruled in sellers’ favour for merino and about the same as last for crossbred, except for crossbred slipe, for which the market is easier.” ALDINGTON STOCK SALE. QfHtLSTCHURJQEE, March 10. The yarding at Addington to-day was the largest of the season. In the store sheep section the sale was brisk throughout. Eat sheep and fat cattle were scarcely up to last week’s rates. Store sheep.—North Island ewes were forward in heavy numbers, the quality beig the best so far this season. A good; toned market for northern and Local ewes wtas maintained into the final stages of the sale. Lambs were in very keen demand and showed an appreciation of Is to Is fid on last week. Fat Lambs,—Extra prime heavy lambs made to 32s Id; heavy prime lambs, 27s 3d to 29s . 6d; mediumweight, 25s fid to 28s; light and inferior, 23s fid to 255; unfinished lambs, 20s fid to 235. Fat Sheep.—'Extra prime wethers, 39s prime, 29s 9d to 32s fid; medium, 26s 6d to 29s fid; light, 25s to _2fis 3d; extra prime ewes, to 34s Id; prime, 24s to 26s Id; light, 17s to 19s; aged, 13s fid to 16s fid. Fat Cattle, —Extra heavy steers sold at £lB to £2O 2s fid; heavy steers, £l4 10s to £l7; prime medium-weight steers, £l4 to £l6; medium quality steers, £ll to £l2 15s; light steers, £7 10s to £lO (Lis; extra heavy cows, to £l6 2d 6d; prime cows, £8 to £lO 10s; medium cow's, £5 5s to £7 15s; light cows, £4 to £5; extra prime heifers, to £l2 17s fid; prime heaters, £8 10s to £11; ordinary heifers, £6 10s to £8 ss; light heifers, £5 to £6 ss. Dairy Cattle. —A good sale. Beet springing cows, £8 to £l2 10s; medium sorts, £5 to £7 10s; inferior, £2 to £4 10s; best springing heifers, to £l4 10s Id; good, £7 to £lO 10s; others, £1 to £4. Fat Pigs.—A keen' market all round, it being the dearest of the season. Choppers, £3 10s to £7; light baeoners, £4 to £4 15s; heavy baeoners, £5 to £5 ss; extra heavy, to £6 10s, average price per lb, 8d to 9d; light porkers, 52s to 63s _; heavy porkers, 68s to 755; average price per lb, B£d to 9d.
