O’SHEA AND HORDER, PROFESSIONAL CONTESTS. (by TKCEGRAPB PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, March 8. Seven thousand people were present at the opening of Blandford Park Stadium on Saturday night. The mile scratch cycle race, in which five men started from the mark, was won by Nicholson, of Auckland, who got a "jump in the last half lap while Horder and O’Shea were watching, each other, and thus was enabled t-o win by a wheel from O’Shea, who beat Horder by inches. Time, 2.24 3-5. O’Shea got the verdict against Horder by a wheel in winning the three lap open race; but Horder easily disposed of all opponents in the sprint race of one la<p, in which he was giving away up to 70 yards.
