MANAIA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) It is with deep regret that I have to record the death of Mrs William Cunningham, wife of the late William Cunningham, Normanby road, Manaia, which occurred at her residence on Saturday morning after a long illness. The late Mrs Cunningham was a favourite with all who knew her. She was of a charitable disposition and a good friend and neighbour. She had resided in Manaia for about 19 years. Her late husband predeceased her by about two years. She leaves a grownup family of five sons and two daughters. The deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family in their very sad loss of a good motherA general jjmMing of the W aimate Horticultural Society was held in the County Chambers, Mr T. A. Bridge presiding. A statement of receipts and expenditure was submitted in respect of the recent show, which showed approximately a credit balance for the day of £3B. This was considered most satisfactory. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the judges and all officials who so generously helped the show; also a hearty vote of thanks was accorded the Manaia Municipal Brass Band for its generous donation of £7 10s, . . Much business was done during the evening in connection with the social and dance which is to be held in the Town Hall, Manaia, on Easter Monday night in aid of the society’s funds. Strong committees have been set up to make, this function a record.
