THREE VALUABLE SIRES. SONS OF WORLD FAMOUS SIRES. To Jersey breeders the arrival of three famous bulls per the Canadian Spinner at Wellington two weeks ago is of unusual interest. The consignment comprised a 21-year-old bull and two yearlings. The oldest bull, Sybil Gamboge’s Dreadnought, is a sou of the world-famous Sybil’s Gamboge, whose, progeny, won a very wide reputation for their wonderful type and butter-fat performances. The dam of Sybil’s Gamboge’s Dreadnought was bred on the island home of the breed, and has a record of 0161 b butter-fat as a four-vear-old, produced on Jersey Island. Her sire is a famous island prize-winner and son of the renowned General Cowslip and Manor Hussy. 2nd. Her full sister is a grand daughter of Golden Maid’s Prince, noted as a sire of producers, and sire of Fauvic’s Prince, the only Jersey sire in the world with four daughters with records over 1000 lb butter-fat. Her dam combines the blood of Noble of Oaklands, Cowslip 10th, and Golden Maid’s Prince. Sybil’s Gamboge’s Dreadnought is himself a bull of outstanding type and quality, indicative of exceptional breeding ability. Ho was bred by Mr. J. S. Ellsworth, Folly Farm, Connecticut, U.S.A., and will find a new home at the head of the well known To Aute stud owned by Mr. W. T. Williams, Pukehou, Hawke’s Bay. , The yearlings are two very choice animals bv two of. the greatest sires inh#en cing modern Jersey history. One I is by You’ll Do’s Victor, the famous son of the renowned Oxford You’ll Do. You’ll ..Do’s Victor, whose value as a sire is fully appreciated, has succeeded those historical sires. The Cid and Combination ’s Premier, as the head of a famous stud. The dam of this young sire, .Sultana’s Eva, is by Sultana’s Eva, is by Sultana’s Golden Jolly, grand champion bull of America, from a daughter of Oxford You’ll Do. This is a low-set bull of great depth and length, straight top line, and aristocratic head. He is a bull of substance and character, notable for the great sires behind him, and lie should play an important part in the breeding operations of this country. The other bull is by Combination’s Premier, perhaps the greatest sire of his time, and through his living sons and daughters ranks high in the annals of great sires. His (Lam, Tidy Lady You’ll Do, is a daughter of You’ll Do’s Fontaine, one of the greatest sons of Oxford You’ll Do. This youngster is only ten months old. He is stylishly made, and should prove a sire of great producers of the desired type. Both of these bulls were bred by Mr. T. S. Cooper, Linden Grove, U.S.A., and were selected by him to come to this country.
