. TAXATION IN DOMINIONS. BRITISH PRINCIPALS OBJECT. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 10.45 a.m. to-day. LONDON, March 5. The associated British Chambers of Commerce, after consideration of representations' from various chambers in regard to th© income tax now levied by the (Governments of certain Dominions, namely, it is understood, Canada, South Africa- and New Zealand, upon British manufacturers through their agents', carried a resolution expressing the opinion that such taxation, if insisted upon, will seriously handicap development of Empire trade, and trusting that his Majesty’s Government will arrange for this important question, to 'be discussed at the forthcoming Imperial Conference with a view to a common policy being adopted throughout the Empire. Copies of the resolution are. to be sent to Mr Baldwin (Prime Minister), Mr Aniery (Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs) and Sir Philip Oun-liffe-Lister (President of the Board of Trade).
