The death occurred in a private hospital in Auckland on Saturday of the Hon. James Palmer Campbell, M.L.C., at the age of 78. An operation was performed ten days ago. A meeting of the Federated Seamen's Union in Wellington to-day nominated Mr A. L. Monteith for the position of workers’ representative on the Arbitration Court, and Mr F. Cornwell as acting-representative.—Press Assn. The Press Association reports that Sir James Parr paid a visit to Palmerston North to-day to inspect school sites to meet the future needs of the town, the growth of which greatly impressed him. He said he realised the need for a school to provide for children at the new railway settlement on the line deviation. Sir James left later for Napier by motor car, accompanied bv Lady Parr, who arrived in Palmerston North later in the day from Wellington. ■Stubborn corns can’t resist Progan dra, 1/6. —Advt.
