It is announced that, in appointing Mr L. B. Beale •to lie H.is Majesty Trade Commissioner for New Zealand, in succession to Mr Noel Klmslie. the Imperial Government has raised the status of the x>ost to first-grade rank, thus indicating the importance which it attaches to Britain’s trade relations with the Dominion.
Mr Beale, in addition to wide commercial experience, enjoys a reputation as one of the most, efficient and popular officers in the Trade Commissioner’s Service.
Mr R. W. Dalton. senior Trade Commissioner in Australia, who has been deputed to take charge of the New Zealand post pending Mr Beale’s arrival in April, will arrive to-inor.row.
