United States people this year became law on Friday, when it was formally approved by President Coolld“G' SYDNEY, March 1. A steady stream of volunteers are engaged on coastal vessels. One of the Illawarra Company’s ships has sailed, manned by volunteers. The owners regard this as a test ship and, if trouble is not experienced at coastal ports, normal sailings will shortly be resumed. LONDON, Feb. 26. A vigorous campaign for equal franchise for women was launched at a mass meeting at the Central Hall, Westminister. The' banners displayed were reminiscent of the pre-war suffragette campaign. Veterans of that fight and younger recruits composed the audience, representing 126 organisations. Messages were received-from'wo-men’s organisations' in Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere. Lady Aster said there were still five million women who' did not have the vote.
