The Berlin correspondent of the Daily News says Signor Mussolini’s latest anti-German tirade is interpreted as an attempt to mobilise opinion on all the border States against Germany to prevent the union of Austria and Germany. Messages from Belgrade state that as a result of recent negotiations an Italian-.Tugo-Slav defensive pact lias practically been completed. It aims to prevent a Gorman thrust to the southward.

VIENNA, Feb. 28,
Speeches urging the boycott of Italian goods and the tourist traffic to Italy were made at a demonstration at Rathaus, organised by a league named after the Tyrolese patriot Andreas Hofer. Attempts to hold the demonstration outside Parliament and the Chancellor’s residence were prevented by the police.
