BONDS OF EMPIRE
BANKERS’ CONTRIBUTION.
ANGLO-DOMINION ALLIANCES. UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT. Received Feb. 26, 10.10 a.m. LONDON, Feb. 25. Attention was focussed on an aspect of Empire settlement which lias hither, to not received much ' notice, at a dinner of Knights of the Round Table, when Sir John Ferguson (a banker and a director of 8.A.W.R.A.) said that, of late, the great British bankers bad sought to broaden their base of operations by activities in foreign fields They knew there were limitations to what they could do in foreign fields, but he was of the opinion that there was no limit to what they could do in the Empire. Already some great British bankers had formed alliances and affiliations with banks working in the Dominions. If the right direction were given to the activities of these newly-formed relationships, he had no doubt they would contribute largely to building up Empire trade and drawing closer the bonds of Empire. —Reuter.
