NEW PLYMOUTH TROTS.
GOOD RACING EXPECTED. If the present spell of good weather holds, the New Plymouth course should be in very good order for the Taranaki Trotting Club’s second totalisato-r meeting on Saturday. The fist of acceptances disclose good fields in all events, and though the scratching pen will doubtless account for some of the acceptors, it appears unlikely that sing’e dividend races will be experienced. A field, of nine has paid up for the Taranaki Cup —the same number as accepted last week for the Wanganui Cup—and it should prove, a stirring contest. Fields in the other events range from eight in the Omata Handicap to 15 in the Moturoa, and a good day may be anticipated by devotees of the harness sport.
