-French airman killed. FLYING BENEATH EIFFEL TOWER BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRI'JTI f Received Feb. 25. 1.25 p.m. PARIS, Feb. 24. A bet made by an airman, Lemen C’al'ox, with an American, that he could fly beneath the Eiffel Tower had a, tragic ending. The airman, who is a pupil at an army aerodrome, accomplished the actual feat; but when he was attempting to rise Ilia machine became entangled in the aerial of the wireless station and dropped 'ike a stone over the Champ de Mars, crashing through a tree to the lawn below. Flames broke out. and the pilot was burned to death in his seat, still gripping the levers.
A large crowd, including the airman’s brother, witnessed the tragedy.— Reuter.
