WIN FOR HAMILTON. (by TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.; HAMILTON, Feb. 19. The North Island rinks bowling tour_ nament concluded to-day. Beautiful weather marked the live days of play, and the greens were in splendid order. The final resulted in a victory. for J. Smith, F. F. Wilson. S. K. Mclntyre, R. N. Pilkington (s), of Hamilton, 23, over Guy, WTightson, J. Hoskins and G. Hoskins, (s), of 14. Play was of a very high standard, and was notable for the wonderful recovery by the Hamilton rink in the concluding stages. Bosking bad a lead at the 15th head, but the game came level at the 16th. PilkiagtmVs team played at top form, and after that ran out comfortable winners. BANNER FINALS. AT STRATFORD TO DAY. To-day will be a day of keen struggle in the bowling world of Taranaki, for at Stratford! Club’s green will be fought the finals for the banner, one of the most coveted trophies among the clubs of Taranaki. The finalists are: West End (North), Avon (Central), Pihama (Western) and Manaia (South). The .draw for this morning was: Avon v. Manaia and Pihama v. West End. In the afternoon will bo played the final matches. PARK CLUB. Quin Star—The trophy for the singles in the Park Club lias been held for some time by Mr W. Grant, the popular president, and yesterday he just sustained a challenge from F. Quin, each scoring 18 points. To, win the trophy .a- challenger, naturally has to beat the holder, so that Mr Grant remains in possession. IN THE NORTH. xesterday Inglewood sent two rinks to Tariki, and in both cases the home rinks were victorious, the gross margin being ]3—Tariki 4(i, Inglewood 33.
