To date several hundred! cases have been reported. _ The Government medical officer, in a circular says that, as far as is kaown, the disease is spread by the bite of the mosqiuto, xvhieb carries the germ i r om person to person. Municipal councils are asked to co-operate to prevent the spread of the disease. The fevir is raging also in many parts of Queensland. [Dengue—commonly known as dandy or breakbone fever is an acute disease experienced in tropical and sub-trop ical countries. It spreads very rapidly. The symptoms are' those of high fever, with redness of the face and usually a rash on the skin, sore throat' headache, severe pain in the muscles, and main and swelling of the joints. ThisA condition persists for three or foura'dys, when the temperature falls and the patient improves. After another three or four days the fever and pains return and then gradually abate.]
