At the inquest on the circumstances surrounding the death of Mauri cte Patrick Malone, who died on‘January 16 from an injection per rectiim of an ointment for pi’es containing morphia and belladonna, which should have been used externally, a verdict was returned that the deceased died of oedema of the lungs and consequent asphyxia caused by morphia and bella donna poisoning, an overdose of ointment containing these drugs having wen inadvertently injected by the deceased (states a Press Association message from Hastings.)
