PLUNKET SOCIETY.
ANNUAL FETE
STRONG SUPPORT NEEDED
There is no organisation more deserving of assistance in the most liberal measure than that which controls the work of the Plunket nurse in the care of babies and young children and in helping and advising young mothers. No sphere of activity has a greater influence for good on the general health of the community. It is therefore with an assurance of generous .assistance that the committee asks for the help of the people of town and district in its annual fete at King Edward Park, a fixture which provides the society with a considerable portion of its revenue. The fete is fixed for next Wednesday, and a host of attractions are advertised for the park on that afternoon. There will be calces and ice cream, sweets and jumble stalls, and afternoon tea; many games ’ will be provided, such as croquet, hoop-la, golf putting, tennis, and sports for. the children. There will he in addition a series of competitions—decorated prams, children’s prams and tricycles, and a Christmas tree laden with presents.
It will thus be seen that the committee is offering a wealth of attractions that must draw large crowds, and it hopes that everyone will he as liberal as possible, realising that in helping the fete they are assisting a cause that deserves well of everyone.
