Dr. Carl Ramelc, iu_ formed the Foreign Affairs Committee that in reply to the Austrian Minister’s representations Signor Mussolini, Premier of Italy, had. stated that in his speech he did not intend to alarm Austria. He’ only meant that Xtaly would never consent! to a union of Austria and Germany, or any alteration of the post-war conditions. He added the assurance that no Italian troops would cross the Brenner Pass. Dr. Ramek declared that in view oi Signor Mussolini’s explanation Austria would not refer the threats to the League. He hoped the tone of the Fascist Government and the press would be moderated.- —Sydney Sun Cable.
