THIEVES’ AWFUL CRIME,
A SARDINIAN OUTRAGE. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received Feb. 19, 10.40 a.in. ROME, Feb.-18. Thieves, disguised as .shepherds, at Ghia.rmonti, Sardinia, wiped out a family of six people. The thieves knocked at the door of Tedde, a well-to-do farmer, and while he was giving them a meal, according to the traditionial rule of hospitality, thiey stabbed him in the back. When his wife and four children ran into, the kitchen they also were .stabbed. The thieves decamped with money. The police are in hot pursuit.—Aus.N.Z. Gable Assn.
