The track is in >good order. Results: Maiden. —Tanadice 1, White Fang 2, Great Day 3. Scratched: Royal Land. Won by a neck, two lengths between second and third. Time, 1.2 3-5. . , Stewards’ Handicap.—Glenross 1, The Lamb 2, Fool’s Paradise 3. All started. Won by half a length, two lengths between second and third. Time, 1.47 2-5. Westmere Hurdles. —Comedy Prince l, Mountain Bell 2, San Fera 3. All started. Won by two lengths,. four lengths between second and third. Time, 3.12 2-5. Victory Welter. —Mountain Top 1, Catcall 2, Indian Sao;e 3. All started. Won by a head, a length and a half between second and third. Time, 1.57 2-5. TOLAGO BAY RACES. GISBORNE, Feb. 18. v Tlie Tologa Bay Jockey Cub’s annual meeting was held to-day. The weather was fine, and the attendance was good. Results: — Maiden Scurry.—Sophia 1, Hampton Court 2, Night Nurse 3. Also started: Antons, Mokaukirunga, Gay Fed, Miss Damon, Free Kick. Won by 1£ lengths, alf a length between second and third. Time, 1.4 J. RICOAIRTO'N TRAINING* NOTES. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 18. The weather is mild for the early work at Riccarton, but a nor-wester after breakfast made conditions unpleasant. Ayrovski ran nine furlongs _on the outside course proper in 2.4 3-5. , Tarleton covered a mile on the course in 1.44. All the other work was done bn the' plow. Nincompoop, Haze, and Carnot were given easy tasks. Front rank and Miss Flighty ran half a mile up the back in 50 2-5. Rivalry and Retrospect were well matched over seven furlongs, covered in 1.3 4-5. . . Seioti dashed three furlongs easily in. 39 3-5. '
The Harp easily beat. Pannier over four furlongs in 49 1-5. Glentruin ran over six furlong* m 1.13 4-5. Oountersign beat .Gold Prick ojrer ■five furlongs in 1.3 3-5. Limerick beat Murihaupo over five nr. 1.3 15. , . Bn Route covered five furlongs in. 1.3 3-5 alone. Sun Up dashed oyer five furlongs nr 1.12-5 brilliantly. 1 Lady Clarence .beat Projection over seven in 1.33. His Majesty and Bqueirry coveredi seven in 1.34 3-5. Cbrnstalk beat 1< rivolous and Rapier over five furlongs in 1.3. Windshield covered seven .furlongs in 132 and Papereha.se six fori on gs in LIB 1-5. Script and Couleur de Rose did easy work after their sprint on the previous covered five furlongs in 1.3. Victory Bond did three fin-longs up the back stretch, the last taking 37 3-5. Crossbow beat Kilcarniish in half a mile in 501-5. while Oareina took 51 3-5 over the same distance. Chickwheat. and Temper covered five furlong* in 1.5 2-5 comfortably. Viewpoint and Gossip travelled over seven furlongs in 1.34 Bon Skirl accounted for six furlongs in 1.1(5 3-5. and was accompanied by Bright Light over the last four furlongs. Assurance and Peho were veil matched over half a mile in 51 4-5. Lady Swinton went the first three furlongs with them/ Oriflamb beat Grey Lass, in 50sec. Horatius covered seven furlongs in 1.35 2-5.
