ANOTHER WIN FOR IRELAND. by cable—press association—copyright LONDON, Feb. 14. Playing in a “soccer” match, Ireland beat Wales by three goals to nil. The Irishmen were more thrustful opportunists and worked better together, while they were superb on defence. Wales was poor on defence, and missed chances. Gillespie (inside left) netted Ireland's first goal after nine minutes. Curran (centre forward) got the second after 28 minutes the scores at the interval being two to nil. The Welshmen improved later, but were repulsed by the Irish defence. Ten minutes before time Curran got Ireland’s third goal, malting the final score, Ireland 3, Wales 0.
