BOY SCOUT NOTES.

(By “Tenderfoot.”) We held a parade last Thursday, twenty being present, and the boys fully enjoyed the rough and tumble. We are now -working under a different method of training-.. The whole of the work is put in the hands of the patrol leader and troop leader. It is the duty of the, patrol leader to see that the boys of his patrol (eight m number) carry out successfully the work set for them by their officers, and therefore the responsibility ol the work and 1 the management of the patrols is left to them. The troop leader, gives the orders to the patrol leader each parade night, and it is his duty to see that Die work sot for that night is carried out. If not, he lias- to explain why. Clarence Whiting now holds the jiosition as troop leader, and so far has filled it well. Each night before the- boys are dismissed they are made to stand at the half salute and repeat the Scout Promise: “On my honour I promise that I will do my best— To do my duty to God and the King: To help other people at all Lines; To obey the Sequt Law.” THE SCOUT LAW. (1) A Scout’s honour is to be trusted. (2) A Scout is loyal to the King, his country, his officers, liis parents, his employers, and those under him. (3) A Scout’s duty is to be useful and to help others. (4) A Scout is a friend to all and a brother to every other Scout, no matter to what social class the other belongs. (5) A Scout is courteous.
