The police are of the opinion that certain people in* Christchurch are, doing business with motor-cycle engines which do not belong to them (states the Sun). Two motor-cycles have been stolen and the discarded machines have both been found complete with the exception of their en-: gines. On the evening of January 27 a motor-cycle and side-car was taken from outside a house in Wordsworth Street. The theft was reported to the police and investigations were made. On Tuesday the chassis and side-car of the machine were found on a back road in Marshlands, and a mile further along the road the frame was discovered. The engine was the only part of the machine that was missing. This is the second time a machine was taken and relieved of its engine.
