An investigation based on figures of bacteriological tests supplied by the Director of Milk Supplies shows that more inaii naif of the milk supplied to Melbourne, or two-thiras according to the standards adopted in New York, is unfit for human consumption. Tne milk supplied to metropolitan hospitals falls very far short of fulfilling the conditions which expert medical opinion deems to be necessary.
