BETTER STATUS
FOR DOMINIONS’ REPRESENTATIVES. PROPOSAL BEING CONSIDERED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Feb. 6, 12.45 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 5. ft lias been learnt that prominent members of the House of Commons who ure interested in Dominion affairs intend submitting proposals to the Prune Minister, the Kt. Hon. Stanley Baldwin, to create a. stronger Dominion representation in London. They suggest the establishing of a Dominion secretariat. The question will be discussed at the Imperial Conference. It is understood that Downing Street would welcome the rearrangement, but there are many difficulties. It would like the Dominions to have representatives in London with such a status that after communicating with their respective Prime Ministers they should get together here in the form of an Imperial Conference, whereby they could directly inform Cabinet of the Dominions’ attitude. The question is, howcv or, whether all the Dominions would be prepared to give their representatives the necessary status. —Sydney Sun Cable.
