In reply to a request foir direct peace negotiations, the Hifeh Commissionei told the Jebel Druses that they must first cease hostilities. , M. De Jouvenal’s reply states that after arms have been laid down, a national assembly would h e formed to decide the future constitution, _ The Jebel Druses being given the choice ol separate administration or membership of a federal Government, in company with the Syrian Federation and Lebanon, France to be arbitrator in ease of internal disputes. —Router.
