There was also more demand for tippy sorts, which were dearer and dusts were in strong request at speeal prices. Broken Orange pekoe, common, .sold at fifteen annas, medium at seventeen annas, good at ninteen annas. Broken peko-c- quotations were: Common, fourteen annas six pice; medium, 15 annas (1 pice; good, 16 annas (5 pice. Elannings. common. 13 annas 6 pice; medium. 15 annas 6 pice; good, 18 annas. There is rather more inquiry for clear common black leaf, which advanced by half an anna. Good medium leaf and broken are firm, but plain tin liquoring, tanning’s rough leaf, and .stalky de.scriptrions are irregular and prices are easier.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. The price of gold is 85s 114 d per ounce. At the tallow .sales 1183 casks were offered and 527 sold, mostly at sixpence decline. There was no demand for good lines. Quotations were: Mutton, fine. 45s <xl per cwt.. medium, 40s; beef", fine. 42s 9d per cwt.. medium, 39* 6d.
