Application has been made to the Industrial Arbitration Court on behalf of the Australian Workers’ Union for a variation of the award governing labourers in the Railway Department, for a forty hours week. The application was opposed on behalf of the Commissioners and the Master. Contractors’ Association. Judge Beeby said that owing to the great public importance the matter, il would have to stand over for the present.
