Mr. 0. A. St rack, of the Education Court at the Dunedin Exhibition, telegraphed to the Star this afternoon that a. isichool concert i» being broadcast to-night. There would be an address to children at nine o’clock. The Tourist Department’s hooking business tip to the end of December showed an increase of £34,000 over that for the preceding financial year. It is expected that on March 31 the advance will he at least £40,000. The Minister in charge (the Hon. W. Noeworthy) stated last week, that the increase in business in the Auckland agency had been remarkable. It was, in a great measure, due to the obtaining of new, up-to-date offices' in Queen street, and was highly creditable ,to the officers concerned, who had coped with an extraordinary rush of business. In connection with the visit of the Carinthia. the Wellington agency had taken in one day £589 for mover fares and accommodation. while the Auckland office had taken over £SOO for railway and motor fares.
