The Bay of Islands Racing Club's annual meeting, postponed from Satinday last on account of the Kawakawa course being flooded, was transferred to AY hangar ei and held to-day at Kensington Park under ideal weather conditions. There was a large attendance of the public, and the track was in excellent order. The totslisatox handed £10,413 10s, compared with £9323 last year. TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. AUTUMN MEETING. RECORD NOMINATIONS. The autumn race meeting in conneeI.;on with the Taranaki Jockey Club, which takes place at New Plymouth on February II ami 13, should lie moi-P’ successful, as the nominations, published yesterday, constitute a record am; the class of horses engaged is such that some of the best performed race horses in New Zealand will be engaged. The horses nominated total 13 more than tor the autumn meeting last y'ear. The Taranaki Cup has drawn eighteen, including Te Monanui, Muraahi, Income. Surveyor, Loyal Present, Y’o’nia, Spooney. Star Area, Martulla and other i leading horses, whilst the Flying 1 Handicap lias drawn nineteen, including the leading sprinters of the North Island. The Paul Memorial Handicap on the second day lias drawn the great field of 31, and the open six furlongs, the Stewards' Handicap, has drawn 22. The Hurdles have drawn respectively seventeen and sixteen. Nino remain in the Stakes, including Motley’, last year ’a winner, Lady Cavendish, Eoremoann. Oration and Sea town. The minor events have drawn splendid fields.
