It is not every day that, a giltedged investment of 5$ per cent, is offered to the investing public on such a. sound security as a special rate of one farthing in the £ on the capital value of an area valued) at £16,566,100, and lid in the £ on. the capital value of an area valued at £7,167,696. This area comprises practically the whole of the City of Christchurch and a large portion of the suburbs. It is therefore largely due to the attractiveness of the loan that there has been such a big demand for the. Debenture Issue, of £200,000 of the Christchurch Drainage Board. Applications for several days past have, been simply pouring in. Over £IOO,OOO has been subscribed in the South Island alone. The Debentures are available in amounts of £IOO, £SOO and £IOOO each, the term of the Loan being for fifty years, with the right of redemption by the Board of the whole or any portion after the expiration of fifteen years. Those intending to take up these: Debentures and who have not yet done so, are urged to send their applications in without delay, either to the Secretary of the Board direct, or through anv member of a recognised Stock Exchange, or through Banks and Solicitors doing business in the Dominion.
