The railwaymeu’s delegates discussed with the companies the memorandum regarding the Wages Board’s award, an hour after which Air J. H. Thomas made jystatement that, a resolution to refuse £the Wages Board’s award and declare a strike on Friday was lost by 36 votes to 41. It is noteworthy that this straight issue represents the final, decision, and may be regarded as a triumph for Air Thomas, who has consistently striven to uphold the prestige of the Wages Board. Peace is therefore assured in the railway after a week-end of anxiety.
