The death occurred at the Christchurch Hospital yesterday of William Reitz, aged 56, an employee of the Phoenix Insurance Company, who resided at River Road, New Brighton. He fell the previous night at albout 9.45 o’clock from a tramcar which was entering New Brighton, and received very severe injuries to the head. —Press Aissn. Judgment for the plaintiff by default with costs against the defendant was given at the Hawera Magistrate’s Court to-day in each of the following civil cases:—A. H. Shaw v. J.
