THE COST TO GREAT BRITAIN. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Jan. 24. The fact that 98.800 war widows have remarried since 1917 was disclosed in flip report of the Ministry of Pensions for the vear ended March. 1925, when there were 1,905.000 recipients, of whom 51.000 were widows and dependents of officers. The cost for the year was 289,122,000. as compared with £72.448,400 in the preceding year, making the total payments to date £598,000,000. — A. and N.Z. Assn.
