REGARDED AS A SAFE ONE. CAUSE OF THE EXPLOSION. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received .Jan. 22, 12.20 p.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 22. The explosion at Redhead colliery was attributed to a naked light coming in contact with a pocket of gas. When, the flare occurred there was no loud report. None of the injured miners suffered from concussion. The colliery was always regarded as a safe mine, naked lights being used freely. This is the first, incident of the kind ini this colliery, which has been operating for 40 years. None of those injured are in a critical condition, though the injuries of two are serious.
