A CHILD’S DEATH.
THE FATHER'S COMPLAINT. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 22. At the inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of a. child ol five- vears of age, who died while under an operation, for the removal ol tonsils, the father protested against the engagement*, of students being allowed, without supervision, to carry out intricate operations. He considered that a skilled man would have saved the boy’s life. The evidence showed that the operation was performed by two doctors, one with thirteen and the other with seven months’ experience. The coroner. however, pointed out that one of them had had considerable experience in the particular operation, and appeared to have employed: the usual and best methods, though the operation resulted in failure. He gave an open verdict.
