TA HA XA KI REPRESENTATIVES LEAVE. FOR N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS. Most of the Taranaki swimming representatives left by mail train t!vmorning for Napier, where the Now Zealand swimming championships will be held. W. Penman and H. S. West n left yesterday morning because events in which they wore competing will be hold to-morrow. F. W. Grant (Hnwora) was unable to accompany too ton m on account of an accident, to his ankle. The loam will spend to-night at Dannovirko and will arrive at Najii.v o-morrow afternoon. - As Messrs. A. K. Standish, F. •). higgle to n and VV. H. Moves will be unable to make the trip, the duties ot manager will probably fall on Mr. F. .J. Shearer, who will be the centre’ delegate re the annua! conference of the swimming and life saving centres r. speci i vely. Only one remit from the Taranaki centre will lie considered at the confer ence. It reads as follows:- — “'L’liat I lie centres adopt the colours used by the oilier sports bodies of the respective provinces. ’ ’ if the remit is carried the colours of the Taranaki centre will be changed to amber an 1 black, ami several other centres will lie [compelled In change their colours, bid the suggestion is well worthy of ndup lion.
