J. he Dominion bowling tournament uas advanced a stage further to-dav. as far as weather was concerned tlie day was one of the best experienced ■Muce tlie tournament was commenced. 1 lie greens wore very keen and some splendid games were witnessed by numorons spectators throughout the dav. flay was devoted to the rinks and pairs championships. In the rinks competition three rounds of post section play were decided. There were 1 1 inks left at. the close of section play, but after to-day’s games the number was reduced to nine. Post section play is decided on the two-life system, and at present there are three •inks, Casey (Carlton),, Thomson (In'ercargill) and Gray (Kelburn) with vo lives, and six, Stewart (Dunedin), Hutchison (Dunedin), Wright (St Tidier’s), Gibson (Taieri), Malcolm (nun)a,cewan), and Harraway (Dunedin'i, with one life. Pilkington. Avhose i-inl- won the c-hanipionship last vear, wen. out. in the third round of‘post scctiin play. Seteral post sectional games in pairs were played.. Tlie singles championship viH be concluded fo-morrow.
