A remarkable feat of farming work by a man of seventy-two was done by Mr. M. Gundesen, of Hawera, at Mr. B. 0. Lysaght’s farm. Between December 1 and January 18 lie cleaned and thinned fourteen acres of mangolds, doing the work at £4 per acre, ilr. Lysaght said he was cxtrem lv pleased with the work, which was as good as any he had seen. A London cable message- reports that Mr. A. Gray, chairman of the New Zealand Fruit Board, stated the Dominion’s case before the Imperial .Economic Committee.
